Located west of I-35W and south of SH-287, Willow Ridge Estates is convenient to outstanding cities such as Fort Worth, Dallas, Denton, Justin, Roanoke, Southlake, and Grapevine just to name a few. Local shopping is just minutes south on Business 287 in the fast growing town of Saginaw that boasts of a small town atmosphere with big city amenities. Shopping, restaurants and entertainment are only minutes away whether you travel I-35 north or south, or SH-114 east. For after work and weekend enjoyment, soon to come next door in the Parks of Willow Ridge, will be a 5 acre city park with practice soccer fields, a practice baseball diamond, a picnic area, and playground equipment for the little ones. For the NASCAR motor sports enthusiasts, Texas Motor Speedway is only 10 minutes away on SH-114 and I-35. For you music buffs and college age students, the city of Denton offers a lively atmosphere with a college student population of 40,000 plus. And since the University of North Texas has an outstanding music department, live music venues (primarily jazz) are featured throughout the city, especially at the annual free 2 1/2 day Denton Arts and Jazz Festival held each April. The towns of Southlake and Grapevine offer up classic North Central Texas Heritage with town squares, annual festivals, major shopping venues, and plenty of restaurants to satisfy any appetite. For the air commuters, destination DFW International Airport is close by within a 30 to 45 minute ride to the north entrance. Primary education is provided by the highly ranked and sought after Northwest Independent School District. According to a spokes person with the school district, Northwest ISD currently has plans to open a new elementary school within the subdivision by the year 2010, and is seeking out sites for new middle and high schools for future construction. Higher learning is easily obtained in the nearbyDenton colleges of the University of North Texas, named one of the best 100 colleges in the nation for 10 consecutive years, and Texas Woman's University, which ranks ninth in the nation for doctoral degrees awarded in the health sciences, and produces more new nurses than any other program in the state of Texas. Even though Texas Woman's University occupies a notable position in higher education as the nation's largest university primarily for women, TWU also welcomes men in their fold. For those that would prefer to stay close to home, Northwest High School is now a satellite campus for North Central Texas College in the evenings for select college coursework.
